We at The Newport Blues Café are deeply saddened by the death of Legendary Blues Guitarist, Johnny Winter.

The show that was scheduled to play on September 21st  at The Blues Café is being discussed with Johnny’s Management and his family. A possible tribute to Johnny and his music is being discussed with fellow band mates, and various Blues legends.

It is our hope that on the date Johnny was scheduled to return to The Blues Café a show will be presented in his memory that even he would have been proud of.

For those who have already purchased tickets to this near sold-out show you are invited to receive refunds thru etix.

For those who choose to hold their tickets for a possible tribute show they will be honored for the above date and a portion of the ticket proceeds will be donated to a charity determined by the Winter Family in Johnny’s memory.

As more information becomes available it will be posted on our website ASAP.

Respectfully,

Jim & Kate Quinn
